Mission and Goals

The Education Board of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia is composed of six Board members who have a special interest and expertise in head and neck anesthesia. The Education Board is committed to the development of superior educational programs in perioperative care of adult and pediatric patients undergoing head and neck surgery. We welcome your suggestions and input, as we continuously work to implement our mission, and facilitate life-long independent learning by anesthesia practitioners in the field of head and neck anesthesia.

Purpose

The purpose of the Education Board is to improve perioperative care and clinical outcomes for patients undergoing head and neck surgery through delivery of high quality, expert educational activities and initiatives.         

Mission Statement

The primary missions of the Education Board are to promote:

  • Comprehensive education, aimed at improving knowledge, competence and performance of anesthesia trainees and other anesthesia practitioners in the field of head and neck anesthesia.
  • Quality patient care, based on best medical practices in the field of head and neck anesthesia.
  • Specialized and advanced training  in the field of head and neck anesthesia.
  • Professional educational collaboration with medical and other professional societies and organizations involved in perioperative care of patients undergoing head and neck surgery.

Goals

The Education Board achieves its missions through continued development of quality learning objectives and curricula, defining the standards for fellowship training in the field of head and neck anesthesia, through performance improvement CME activities, and through other educational endeavors of the Society.
